Translation:The synagogue is next to that building.
I was just marked as incorrect for "η συναγωγή είναι δίπλα σε εκείνο το κτήριο" for a listening exercise, general strengthening on web. I believe κτήριο and κτίριο are both valid spellings of the word, and they're homophones, so should this sentence still be coming up for audio review?
I'm not a native speaker, but in my understanding δίπλα and κοντά have quite different meanings: δίπλα = next to, and κοντά = near, close. So something can be κοντά without necessarily being δίπλα.
