Well that's fairly amazing. Good on him, although it's hardly something most of us could do. I'll just stick to my three (Spanish, German, and Portuguese) myself.

Yeah, Timothy Doner... I'm not sure what to think of him. It's absolutely clear that he speaks a lot of languages very well, but if you look at his most well-known demonstration vid, he seems to rattle off some of the bits by heart (Arabic), while with other languages he's clearly just starting out (Hausa, Wolof). So I find his claim of "speaking 23 languages" a bit audacious. Most accomplished polyglots are humbler.

If you've seen his TED talk, he actually is a lot humbler. The media is really trying to sensationalize his story.
