Switching courses is annoying
I have two courses, Japanese for English speakers and Italian for Spanish speakers. When I took the Japanese course, switching back to Italian for Spanish speakers requires me to go into the Add a course menu or else I go to Italian for English speakers. Is this supposed to happen?
I agree, it's very annoying. I do the Japanese from English course on my ipad and French from English on PC. Whenever I open the Duo website after I have done some Japanese on the ipad, it tells me "Japanese is not yet available on the Web, here is a list of ALL the other courses available, please choose one", even though I'm already in the French course. I have to select it every time.
It can be annoying but honestly it's just about the only thing duolingo can do since it's not added to pc yet. I have to click spanish every time also, especialyl when I switch between the languages like 5 times a day
I always try to remember to switch on the app since it doesn't require scrolling and sometime slow loading.
Sometimes I try to switch on the app but it puts me in whatever course I was taking earlier.
This will be nice when the PC version of the Japanese course is out, but I need to see if it's on Android...
I don't know about Android, but I'm able to switch easily on my iPhone. I may be wrong (it was a long time ago), but I don't recall installing the script on my phone. Anyone know for sure if the script needs to be installed on your phone if you've installed in elsewhere? Does that even make any sense?
I have assumed that base language switching is still much easier on Android than on a PC (where, incidentally, it actually got much harder with the website update), although I don't actually know that.
But I'm happy they have fixed it so that you can participate in discussions even as a Japanese learner - a while ago, because Japanese isn't yet on the web, I kept getting stuck at that notification page. (And then had to sign up for French even though I am not studying French currently.) Thanks for taking care of that, guys!
Are you sure that's actually fixed?
If my account is currently on the Japanese course and I open the Duolingo web page, it takes me to the Japanese is not available page. So you would still need to sign up for French now, unless yours is doing something different.
