"Yesterday was the third of October" should be an option as well, shouldn't it?

If you honestly think an 'incorrect' answer is an accurate translation, report it! The duolingo database doesn't always cover every possible phrasing, especially on newer courses, so they rely on feedback to improve and refine it. Get in there!

And yeah, obviously your version is fine - just another way of expressing the exact same thing. Help them out and let them know

I said "Yesterday was October the third" and it marked it wrong :/

That's weird. On every other question, "Month #" without the "rd" or "th" after the number is accepted, this one marked me wrong with nothing other than "3rd" marked as wrong for only being "3".

    I reported it, of course

When speaking Japanese is the day/month - month/day order important or interchangeable?

    9/21/2018, 12:18:55 PM

    https://www.duolingo.com/cvictoria42

It's always month/day. And when you give the full date, it's year/month/day

"Yesterday it was October 3rd" isn't accepted, I've reported it.

    "yesterday it was october 3rd"

honestly this module is really bad. like i shouldn't have to learn english as an english speaker.

    1. my sentence is fine
    2. it's 3rd October not October 3rd why i have to type it that way honestly the mind boggles
    3. uncontrollable rage lol
