"Yesterday was the third of October" should be an option as well, shouldn't it?

If you honestly think an 'incorrect' answer is an accurate translation, report it! The duolingo database doesn't always cover every possible phrasing, especially on newer courses, so they rely on feedback to improve and refine it. Get in there!

And yeah, obviously your version is fine - just another way of expressing the exact same thing. Help them out and let them know

How do you report on the app? I can't see an option.

Almost five months later and it still isn't. Just got marked wrong again and reported it again. ^^;

On October third Aaron asked me what day it was...

I said "Yesterday was October the third" and it marked it wrong :/

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/TriffinneM

That's weird. On every other question, "Month #" without the "rd" or "th" after the number is accepted, this one marked me wrong with nothing other than "3rd" marked as wrong for only being "3".

    I reported it, of course

That moment when yesterday actually was October 3rd...

      "yesterday it was october 3rd"

honestly this module is really bad. like i shouldn't have to learn english as an english speaker.

      1. my sentence is fine
      2. it's 3rd October not October 3rd why i have to type it that way honestly the mind boggles

When speaking Japanese is the day/month - month/day order important or interchangeable?

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/cvictoria42

It's always month/day. And when you give the full date, it's year/month/day

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Hirakawa1990

In Japanese you also first say address first biggest then smallest. same here.

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/James-B-

"Yesterday it was October 3rd" isn't accepted, I've reported it.

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Scott380225

And you should enable "Oct. 3rd."

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Gabriela984086

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/arcferrari248

REPORTED: "IT WAS OCTOBER 3 YESTERDAY." SHOULD BE CORRECT.

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/varkentje123

It's annoying here that our month names are off... <.

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Maru586649

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/JordyGriff

On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/RickyC99

      昨日は十月三日でした Isn't considered correct

Beeeh. It should accept month abbreviations too. Oct., Sept., Nov., Dec., etc...
