What a disaster is doing Duolingo with my account?

I've been studying Italian for over a year now and that is the only course I'm taking (I am at level 25 with, at the moment, 56430 XP).

Today I notice that:

** If I put the mouse pointer over the flag at the left of my profile picture at the menu bar, there appear two other courses (I added neither of them):

A) Italian, level 1

B) English, level 1

** At the Achievements box/section appear the following two courses (where only the first one is the correct one):

A) Italian - Level 25 / Next level: Infinity XP / Total XP: 56430 XP

B) English - Level 1 / Next level: 60 XP / Total XP: 0 XP

And no, they do not appear at the at the Settings > Learning language, page, so I cannot remove them.

Is anyone having a similar issue?

I just hope that just as that incorrect data appeared, the correct one doesn't dissappear!

You have to read this: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/23161515

Maybe by mistake you click or touch in your phone in the past, the English and Italian courses. To remove a course, you have to switch to the "from" (the small flag) language first and then go to settings.

hope that helps.

Thanks for the answer.

I did once wanted to start two Italian courses, one with Spanish and the other with English as base languages, but that wasn't possible so I deleted the Spanish one and set the one in English; however, I never added one to learn English from Italian!

I did as you adviced, but at the reset_lang page the Delete language button is disabled. I tried by first resetting, but that did not change the status of the delete button.

Well, it seems other people are also getting unwanted courses at their profile. Let's hope they fix this and let one get rid of unwanted courses in an easy and intuitive way, like putting all the courses in a list where one could select either and then delete.

Oh, I see, there is a glitch. I just tried to remove courses from another "from" language and the button was disabled, so I added another course and the two remove buttons were enabled. BUT, It seems like you can remove all courses except the last one.

We have to report this bug!.

Thanks, the help page shows that and effectively remarks that there should always be at least one course. In my case, that list never appears, each of the three courses appear as if they were the only registered course.

Yes, I will report this.

Try going to your "Home" page. As mentioned in the announcement (https://www.duolingo.com/comment/23161515) it doesn't work from all pages.

all it shows in the profile are the languages that I am learning from english. i am also learning german and french from russian, french and german from italian, german and italian from french and french from german. these languages no longer appear on my HOME profile page when i switch languages. i simply get the iteration of the languages i'm learning from english with xp's. I am studying french 5 ways, but I can only see the results from 1 in my profile. I've been doing this since 2014- this is bad coding.

I have the same problem..someone has found a solution?

I think this is something that needs to be fixed in the code, so the best course of action would be to submit a bug report. The more reports they receive concerning this particular issue, the more probable it will be that they fix it.
