I'm an Iranian English teacher and I'm willing to contribute to a Persian(farsi) course for English speakers. Is such a thing going to happen? I'm fully prepared to help you with anything you'd probably need.
It's likely that a Farsi course will be created sooner or later, but there's no sign of it appearing immediately. If you're qualified and willing to apply, you can do so in Duolingo's the Incubator. Farsi isn't one of the languages listed yet, but at the bottom of the list there's an option you can choose labelled "Enter other".
Thank you so much, I searched for it but I couldn't find anything, I'll try again.
Most of the courses started from English language for X speakers so you'll have to contribute in English for Farsi speakers first, then reverse the tree.
More courses have started that way round than the other, it's true, but any contributor can offer to contribute to whichever course they wish. One of the most important factors Duolingo take into account when deciding which courses to launch is the contributors they have available to them.
That'll be awesome! That's actually what I do for a living. I've been teaching English to Persian speakers for about a year now.
So do I I filled in the form and registered as a contributor and invited my friends to join as well. I hope Duolingo people help us do it fast.
If they release the course and let me and my friends complete the whole thing I can say it's almost as hard as French or maybe less hard than that. If you mean how much it'll take to prepare the course I actually have no idea because I haven't created a course in Duolingo before. but if you mean learning it, I think a lot.
Thank you for offering to contribute! many of us would love to see this happen. In the meantime, does anyone know if there are Persian language podcasts with transcripts available? Or a site with subtitled videos or films?
