Hace dos meses no veo a mi novia.
Why is "no veo" (present tense) used when the translation is "have not seen" is past tense? "I've not seen my girlfriend since two months ago."

The best translation (actually the literal translation) for "Hace dos meses no veo a mi novia" is "It's been two months that I don't see my girlfriend" (present tense).
