I'M A BIT DISAPPOINTED...
I wanna be clear abou this, my point of view is merely my personal opinion and do not intend to offend anyone with my comments. I think duolingo is AN EXCELLENT method to learn a wide range of words it's really helpful when learning a new language. I highly recomend this course to anyone who is thinking seriously in learning how to speak the language of your dreams and combine it maybe with some other methods,by the way, if you know about a tool to improve a language and that works as good as Duolingo or maybe better, please let me know.Going back to what I said previously about this Duolingo thing, I can't thank Duolingo enough!I am 100% satisfied with this amazing course that i came across. It's free, You really learn and makes you think. , it also contains a vast number of images so you can remember and associate words with images and after a couple of days when your memory starts fading away and you want to pull back the words you had learnt this extraordinary tool called STRENGHTEN calls you out and invites you to go through the words you studied before. There is just a problem with the tool called the timer , i believe it cost me like 20 lingots or 10, i don't remember right now and when i was on the strenghten area i decided to give it a try and do the exercise , there you go, excited about this new thing soon you realize that the timer goes countdown and as you go into the exercises the countdown doesn't stop and it's like if your outstanding work :P doesnt worth , you know what i mean? i'm not a smugger or something like that ,please don't get me wrong lol.In my humble opinion I' think it'll be better to have like more excitment and a feeling of fun when playing it, like extra points and more time to play , that's basically my idea, keep on creating smart courses like this, keep it up, you are really helping people pull through. Well , before I forget, I will let you know why I'm really writing this , please keep it in mind 'cause you will rememeber it for the rest of your life, trust me, it's good. Here is another reason to write what I'm writing. iI'm currently studing English and French , my mother tongue is Spanish and from time to time I enjoy brushing up on my skills, today my exercise is a little bit of writing. I'm looking for friends from all over the world to talk about many different topics in order to improve our studies on this. I can offer you respect and friendship and just the best of me. These days I'm kind of interested in talking about family you know, milestones or major events, I'm thinking in writing a book and i would like to talk about my role in life , my family, how things have changed , now completely different from back then. You know , what are things like today from 20 years ago, you know, you sometimes listen to old people say , "in my day''... anyway that's one of the topics I want to talk about, and also iI'd like to talk about modern media ,cooking, any topic you can think of,just great conversations. Well , I think that's all I need to write, uh just wrote again . : ) Write a comment below, I'd really like to hear about you, be your friend and have long and enjoyable conversations , No trolls allowed please. Have a wonderful day!
It's about these three kids who live on a planet that's completely dark all the time so everyone is really really pale, and so these three kids aren't as pale as everyone so they're severely discriminated against, but then they accidently aboard a spacecraft which takes them to Earth and I haven't figured out the rest...
You no you guys, there's this awesome website called Young Writers Society and its really friendly and fun! and you can post your book or chapters or poems on there and users can review them, so maybe sense you guys are writers as i am, you could create a profile on there witch is EASY and post your story's on there for everyone's enjoyment :D And also to add in, i am also homeschooled, and my first language is also English :)
This is a bit from the short story i'm writing (not the book):
I can't remember the last time my mother had smiled. Now, she only gazed out the window with a depressed look on her face, her hair getting longer. I missed my old mother. Before our home in Syria was blown to bits, leaving parts of my memory in pieces, my brother in a wheelchair, and my father and sister in a grave.
I am Sandra Eid, and this is my story. I wake again, smothered in blankets, but not sharing my bed like I used to. I used to complain, but now I am desperate for that part of my life once again.
I wake to the annoyingly loud sound of Philadelphia, the cars, the people, even the birds seem alien-like from what I was used to, even though I have lived here for almost two years now.
there is a follow this user thing under there user name, why? are you logged into YWS already? :o
A Club, um, Well YWS is not like Duolingo so I don't no how they will feel about a language club, but hey, if I can have a food club then you can have a German club :D Go to clubs and you will find a Create a Club button on the top right :D then you just wait for people to join the club. some clubs are more popular then others so good luck! :)
sorry for the very late reply, Oh my story's were written a long time ago :) I am better at writing now thank goodness :D
your welcome! And if you wanna find me on there to ask for help on how to publish stuff and all that, my user name on there is "PizzParty" :D
I'm about to go to work but I'll be back soon to hear from you ;)adn share thoughts, you all are nice people, thanks
Ok thanks, I've been reading your comments and to what I see you guys are writing a book?
Fine. Et je fais de mon mieux pour accepter une vraie fluidité en français
I am doing my best to reach a good fluency in french.Since level 25 is not sufficient to live between french speakers. We have to try other methods like skype, french chat in facebook, video conference, films ........
I am egyptian physician working in the scope of clinical audit. The majority of my professional life is outside my country.I visited Greece,Saudi Arabia & Libya.I arrange my self for French since some south african countries give contracts on condition of French fluency. Now,what about you?
I'm from Mexico, b¿never been abroad, the official language is spanish. I work at a callcenter taking inbound calls and i'd like to learn french to go someday to France the country of love.
well , you know the kind of kitchen related topics, such as how to prepare a meal or a special dish from , let's say , the national cuisine in your country.
i got ya, are you american? well , then i consider myself an american, or my stomach is american, , maybe, I love fast food but dont get fat that easy. Here in Mex we can eat tacos ,you know whats that? all the type of tacos you can imagine, I guess there's a big fast food chain called taco bell, isn't it? I've never tried that tacobell food , but hopefully pretty soon
Saludos!
SLeason, I'm an amateur writer.
Is that your first book? If it is, then: don't give up. Writing can drown you in despair sometimes, writing could be hell too, but you just... don't give up. I recommend you to find an alphareader. I also suggest to make a timeline, because there are times you don't have any idea to write, so... create a timeline and stick to it as much as you can.
I hope you have read these tips. Have a nice vacation time!
