isnt this usually middle or in or inbetween? i thought inside is 内, do they just have similar meanings
I'm inclined to agree with you. They are similar kanji, but to me, 中 feels more like central, while 内 is more explicitly inside or inner.
中 can mean "inside" as well.
I opened the box and looked inside.
There are many cases, where うち and 中 have similar meanings when used grammatically in Japanese.
I can't figure out where to report this anywhere...but in the first exercise where it is introduced, 中 is pronounced "naka" (なか) (in the audio file) but the "correct answer" is ちゆら? I'm just beginning to understand that there are two different pronunciations for the Kanji, but Duolingo is expecting me to know that when the audio is clearly wrong (at least for the answer they want), and I have no way of reporting that.
I think ちゅう is the answer they want. Like in 中国... It confused the hell out of me at the start too.
Why does wrong centre, inside, within, in or action in progress (ちゅう)...?
"oshiete yo oshiete yo sono shikumi wo boku no NAKA ni dare ga iru no?" just my way to remember this kanji
so i just wrote "in the middle" for this and it gave me wrong, even though when i hover over the word it says exactly that, kinda confusing tbh ....
