Conversation fillers

I was recently listening to a Swedish man giving a talk in English and after each sentence he would say what sounded like 'dänja' (dan-ya) as if to say 'okay?' or 'you see?'.

If anybody knows what this means I would love to know!

Thanks!

Could be "den ja" which roughly translates to "oh yeah, that one". I have personally never heard that verbal tic as a native Swede..

My guess is that he just replaced his usual Swedish filler "vettu" (vet du), or "du vet" with a mangled English "you know" or "do you know".

If he was speaking in English he might have said "then, yes" in a slightly Swedish manner. Just a thought.
