Spanish or German?

I am Norwegian and I am going to live in France for a year, and must learn a second language in addition to English. I am having a hard time deciding which language I should learn. German is quite similar to Norwegian, but the grammar is quite difficult. And Spanish is similar to French. So should I pick Spanish or German?

You can learn the language that's closest to you in France. If you go to a city in the east of France, then learn German. If you go to the south, then learn Spanish.

I've been learning German for over 4 years and I have recently started learning French. If you're going to France, I'd suggest learning Spanish as it is a lot closer to French than German, making it easier for you when you visit. One big difference between French and German is that in German, you pronounce every letter in the word, however in French, you don't. But if you're up for a challenge, go with German. c:

Hello, I think you should learn Spanish because I learned it before and it is easy to learn, but for a while I switched to French. This is my own opinion.
