I love Esperanto

I reluctantly decided to learn Esperanto to get a "leg up" on the Spanish class I am taking in school next year, and I am loving it! The simplicity of it is astounding and it is very fun to learn. Why did you start Esperanto?

I heard about It years ago, maybe a decade back, and was very intrigued. The more I found out, the more I wanted to learn It. The possibilities, its simplicity, its beauty.

I began learning It on and off about a year ago, but now I committed to finishing it. I discovered this app and it's a godsend.

My wife is learning it alongside me. She wants to learn other languages and I told her this would make it easier.

I first heard about it as a kid but there weren't any resources for learning it in my town that a seven-year-old would think of. (For whatever reason I never thought to check out the 499 section of the library where the books on "Languages - Other", including Esperanto, are kept.) About a decade later my interest was re-sparked when I found an Esperanto phrase book for 50 cents at a university bookstore, and off I went. Why Esperanto though? I don't know. Maybe the idea of a constructed language just appealed to me.

I started it mostly on a whim - to see what a "constructed" language was like and to see if was really "four times easier." The more interesting question might be "why did you stick with it?"

Saluton! I also really enjoy it honestly. I can't wait to grow more in this language and learn more.

Esperanto from Spanish (just graduated from Beta) is double useful practice of Spanish. El Esperanto es el mejor (gTranslate).
