Why has Duolingo online Russian course changed ?!

Hi all ! I've been working my way through the Duolingo Russian tree and i'm loving it. However, the interface and app appear to have just changed and i don't like it ! I can no longer see the translated words when i hover over them and i have "Heart" lives that disappear when i make a mistake. Can this be changed back - pretty please Duolingo ! Don't do this to me mid course ... :(

If you have iOS, you're very late to the Health system un-party. If you have Android, I fear you've been chosen as an early guinea pig. The Russian course contributors have nothing to say about the matter. This is 100% Duo central's doing.

I'm clueless about the hints not working, though.

Strangely enough ... I've just had another play on the course - same lesson - and it's now back to the original form. Much better ! Thanks Duolingo - PLEASE DON'T CHANGE ! :)

I think they updated the course. my computer hasn't done it so maybe just on some software? I have seen discussions with people complaining about it :-)

I know when I get further in a lesson or down the tree certain words I am expected to know so I can't hover anymore. Think it is a way to try and force you to remember. I do agree with piguy3. A friend of mine decided we should learn the same language so I restarted Russian with her. She has an apple phone where I have droid. Her apple has the hearts where as I do not. If the point for Duo is to add more ads to pay for the app and keep it "free" then put it at the beginning or end of a lesson. Why fault your "client base" for willingly trying to learn and expand our language knowledge by faulting us for not knowing a new word.
