How do you guys do it?
This is to all of you out there who are fluent in French. How did you all do it. I'm almost fluent but I have my moments so how did you guys do it. I know about memrise and duolingo but are there other methods I don't know of? Please comment your answers they would be of great help to me
Sadly just using websites cannot get you fluent. I like to say they help you learn a bit of a language, but to become fluent you have to go to a country that speaks that language and immerse yourself.
Listening and reading the language also helps that's what I'm doing right now Here's a little something for ya: http://www.thefrenchexperiment.com/stories/goldilocks and there are lessons on there as well as other stories :)
You're welcome - I have used some of those stories on that website before : )
To add to what PeralC10 said, you do not necessarily need to go to a different country to immerse yourself. There are 4 principals of language learning, Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing. If you can do these at home, like I am, you will attain fluency. The harder ones, and the ones where it would be easier to go overseas to learn, are Listening and Speaking. Luckily, we can overcome this hurdle with relatively new technology (in terms of learning a language) we have, we can listen to videos in French on YouTube, talk with French people on Skype, chat with French people online, etc. Personally, I'm focusing on my Spanish, but I will need to put more time to my French as summer break ends and school approaches. I recommend on YouTube Extr@, Easy Languages, and there is a ton of French podcasts on Itunes and CastBox. Have fun! :)
