Is Duolingo changing?

Hi! So I had just finished up reviewing any lost gold skills in Esperanto, French, and German on desktop. This seemed fine; the system of a filling and dropping bar still worked. Then I decided to finish up my daily exercise in French; when I went in, it was set up with the hearts system instead. I haven't seen anything about this; is something changing in the desktop format? Dankon!/ Merci !/ Danke!/ Дякую!/ ¡Gracias!/ Grazie! Update: I just did another French lesson, and it's back to normal (for now at least).

It really is. Why can't they use a system that actually makes sense?

Maybe you hit 'test out' instead of the regular learn mode. It's a different format and scoring system (hearts) if you're trying to test out of a skill.

How is it now? Do you still have the hearts?

It's working fine now, thanks! I think it was test out, as someone else suggested.
