Any Japanese songs that you like?

I know what got me interested in Japanese was the Vocaloid boom in 2006/7. I still listen to a lot of songs in Japanese and hope to someday be able to understand them without translations. So do y'all have any songs from Japan that you like to listen to? Here are a few of mine that I have been listening to alot: (I'm not sure if duolingo will allow links, but if you copy and paste they should pop right up)

【欲音ルコ♂キレ音源】 118(いいや)【FUKASE】, 【狼音アロPower】 前前前世, REOL - ギミアブレスタッナウ/ Give me a break Stop now, LUVORATORRRRRY! ver れをる feat.nqrse, 【巡音ルカ】 " どりーみんチュチュ / Dreamin Chuchu " by emon 【MEGURINE LUKA】, DAOKO『ダイスキ with TeddyLoid』Music Video[HD]

So, here are some songs I was able to recall the names of from back when I watched a bunch of anime. A lot of anime music I listened to for the beat, emotional impression, and/or practice with getting used to how the Japanese language felt in my mouth by singing along. So, no guarantee of the quality of the lyrics. ;) (It's just been a long time since I've watched anime and these songs are really just titles I could remember off the top of my head. :P)

Disclaimer: Some of these songs come from anime that are Rated R. I have linked to video versions that do not contain material that I feel is rated R. But, I cannot predict what previews for other video versions in the side bar will show. Also, please be aware that searching for other video versions of these songs could lead to videos with Rated R material.

"Destine Histore" by Risa Yoshiki. Gosick Soundtrack opening theme Vid with romaji lyrics.

"Alumina" Death Note soundtrack ending theme. Vid

"Re-sublimity" by Kotoko. Kannazuki no Miko soundtrack. [Short version vid with romaji lyrics], Full version vid WARNING: Other video versions of this song often contain rated R material from the anime, which is rated R.) Very fun to learn and try to sing this song. It is fast.

"Agony" by Kotoko. Kannazuki no Miko Soundtrack. Full version vid with romaji and English lyrics. This video does not contain anything by text, but, WARNING: Other video versions of this song often contain rated R material from the anime, which is rated R.)

"Waiting for You" by Akira Sudou. Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 soundtrack (Ending theme). Short version vid via Youtube.

Everything from the Gundam Wing soundtrack by Two Mix is awesome! Most of it is very up tempo.

"The Real Folk Blues" Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. Short Version vid

"Tsuki no Ie" Outlaw Star soundtrack Vid.

"Hiru no Tsuki" Outlaw Star soundtrack. Vid.

"Forever Love" by X Japan. X 1999 soundtrack. Long Version Vid. (Such beautiful lyrics! Very mournful.)

And of course, what anime recollection journey would be complete without a little Sailor Moon?
Makenai! Sailormoon, Sailor Stars opening Vid with subtitles, see left version.

If you like jpop, I suggest you (video without url in this list, means are on youtube):

-Perfume - Pick me up

-【ももクロMV】『Z』の誓い / ももいろクローバーZ(Pledge of “Z”/MOMOIRO CLOVER Z) "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’" THEME

Even though I've been watching anime for a while now, I've actually never really taken the time to pay attention to the songs until recently when I started actually trying to learn the language. As such, I can only offer up one song at the moment, but it's one that I never get tired of.

Youjo Senki Ending 2 Full / 幼女戦記 ED 2 - "Sensen no Realism" by Mako Niina

The anime itself (Youjo Senki, or Saga of Tanya the Evil as its English title) is a bit more on the mature side (an alternate universe WWI with magic and other changes for example) so viewer beware; but it's absolutely one of the best anime of this year hands down.

Ty! I just looked up Youjo Senki and the description is promising. So, I'm going start brushing up on my Japanese listening comprehension again. :)

Glad to help! It's a really good one imo (although the art style for characters' faces can be a little off-putting and apparently not too much like illustrations for the Light Novel portray [specifically eyes and lips]). And speaking of listening comprehension... I didn't realize it, but lately since I started actively learning Japanese, I've noticed that I have a MUCH easier time of hearing word boundaries in Japanese when it's spoken than I do with say Spanish or German, the two languages I've studied the most. So yeah, anime definitely helps in that regard.

Alright, now that the Summer 2017 anime season is in full swing, I can add the following:

Fate/Apocrypha OP 英雄 運命の詩 - “Eiyuu Unmei no Uta” by EGOIST

Unfortunately, since it's so new, it's being hit hard with copyright on YouTube and I can't find a vid that's available outside Japan (so if you use a VPN you should be fine). Instead, have this awesome violin cover of it and a nightcore remix so you can get some idea of the vocals.

Old thread, I know, but I have more songs to share! (Fall 2017 anime season has a ton of great songs)

Zero Kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho Ending Full『 Chima - Hajimari no Shirushi 』

rionos/ハシタイロ MUSIC VIDEO(FULL SIZE) (TVアニメ『クジラの子らは砂上に歌う』ED主題歌)
^^^^You might have some trouble opening this link? Idk, sometimes it works sometimes not, might be region-locked.
Title: "Hashitairo (ハシタイロ)" by rionos

"Rupture (ラプチャー)" by Panorama Panama Town (パノラマパナマタウン) from the anime Juuni Taisen (十二大戦)

"here and there" by Nagi Yanagi
^^ This video is PV2 of the anime this song comes from, Kino no Tabi - The Beautiful World (キノの旅 -the Beautiful World-) 2017 ver.

"Satoutama no Tsuki (砂糖玉の月)" by Nagi Yanagi
^^ Also from Kino no Tabi; in fact, it seems like all of Nagi Yanagi's music is awesome, so just check that artist out.

Konohana Kitan「このはな綺譚」OP Full - Kokoro ni Tsubomi「ココロニツボミ)」 by eufonius

Konohana Kitan「このはな綺譚」ED - "Haru Urara, Kimi to Sakihokoru" (春ウララ、君ト咲キ誇ル) by Konohana-tei Nakai no Kai [Satsuki (Sawako Hata), Natsume (Ayaka Suwa), Ren (Risa Kubota), Sakura (Ai Kakuma), Kiri (Manami Numakura), Yuzu (Yuuki Oono)]
^^ Couldn't find a video for this one, sorry.

"Donna Hoshizora yori mo, Donna Omoide yori mo (どんな星空よりも、どんな思い出よりも)" by Aira Yuuki
^^ From anime Imouto Sae Ireba ii - I like this one, but more for the characters than anything else; it's quite ecchi so viewer beware if that's not something you'd like to watch.

One I really like is from the anime Spice & Wolf. It's the first OP, "Tabi no Tochuu" by Natsumi Kiyoura.

Here's the OP version with the animation (and a translation): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G2XGPdK98E

Here's the full song, with both the romaji and the meaning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RITep593A2U

Aww, I remember Spice and Wolf. It was a cute anime. ^_^

If only there was a season 3...

I like a lot of J-pop, and my favorite Japanese artist is Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ). My favorite songs from her are Ninja Re Bang Bang, Pon Pon Pon, Harajuku Iyahoi, Yumeno Hajima Ring Ring, Kira Kira Killer, Candy Candy, Tsukema Tsukuru, Mondai Girl, and Oto no Kuni.

Some other J-pop songs I like are Hitohira no Hanabira by Stereopony, Out Of My Head by CHVRCHES, and Flamingo by Kero Kero Bonito.

what about (again) from full metal alchamist brotherhood opening

I really like No Title by Reol and this music video you've linked for it is beautiful! (And wow, the font they use for the lyrics is hard for me to follow for some reason! Good practice though!) I'll have to check out the rest. ^_^

These songs are my favorite off the top of my head: 1. REOL - 宵々古今 / YoiYoi Kokon 2. Bad Apple

I remember bad apple! There is also a color version, and a side by side black&white/color side by side version comparison video. I prefer the black and white version though because I'm not familiar with the characters and it's artistic effect is cool. :)

This is an extremely obscure, little known fact, but Weird Al Yankovic actually went through the trouble of translating one of his songs (specifically, Jurassic Park) completely into Japanese. And I like that one :P

I unfortunately cannot think of anything that has actually been made by an actual Japanese artist -- but all things happen in good time :P
