Translation:Băieții cei buni au meserii și muncesc.
Why is "cei" needed here? Doesn't băieții already have a definite article from one of the 'i's
The word "cei" is optional in that sentence. If Duolingo requires it, then you should report the problem. Anyway, here's two examples, one where "cei" is optional and one where it's required, so you get a feel for what this word does:
- The good boys have jobs. = Băieții (cei) buni au slujbe.
- The good ones have jobs. = Cei buni au slujbe.
