Feature request: view only moderator comments, or make mod threads searchable with Ctrl+F

I just stumbled upon a German exercise whose discussion thread had 400 comments. Wouldn't it be useful to be able to filter moderator comments to quickly get to the expert explanations and insights, without having to scroll through hundreds of other comments? Please like this post if you agree with me so that this idea gets picked up by the staff! Or point me to a feature request forum, if there is one. I couldn't find any.

I do not really like the idea. Normal users might also have written very valuable comments. It is the wise use of the voting buttons by those who read these discussions that should place the most helpful comments on top.
Yet I know that human swarm intelligence cannot be expected to be wise ...

And actually, I believe the upvoting generally does tend to put the best/most helpful/most insightful answers at the top (and as you say, often these are from normal users); especially in discussions where there is a lot of user engagement.
At least, that has been my experience.

Well, it seems that in the end, you've conceded that I have a point :-D hehe Mind you, I have nothing against people writing whatever they want, even jokes. But I'm a pragmatic guy, and most of the time, I'm only interested in what the language experts have to say. And in very, very long threads like the one I mentioned, it gets a little tiresome. And more to the point, neither of my suggestions would prevent people from reading all the other comments!

When posting the discussion, under topic (where I believe you chose "German") you should be able to choose "Troubleshooting"; I believe that would be the best place for this discussion.

Are you sure? I would have thought that one was for bugs only...

My suggestion was and is only IMHO :)
