Yep. Motoni means hell too, but you can also say jahanum, jehanum, jahanamu or kuzimu.

Moto is indeed fire. The -ni turns it into a place. So definitely based on the fiery pit depiction of Hell.

Yes, moto -a fire.So, it can be translated - we don't like to go to the fire. By te way - The sentence should to be - Hatutaki kwenda motoni - we don't want to go to hell.
