This is great, thanks!

Will audio be added at some point down the line, or not, since it's a constructed language?

In the short term, someone has built a nice Memrise course with audio: https://www.memrise.com/course/1586994/duolingo-high-valyrian-audio-wip/

That complements the Duo course very well.

https://www.duolingo.com/Beth231200

That is perfect. I just downloaded the Memrise app; it is very easy to use and has audio. Sorry for such a basic question, but since it seems to have the same vocabulary as the Duolingo one that was just released, how was the course created so quickly? Anyway, definitely a useful learning tool, and easy to use on the go.

Many courses have an alpha version before the beta is released. I was one of the testers for the Japanese course before it came out, for instance. I would think this course was created by a tester.

My best guess is that it'll be like Swahili - they released it without audio, so as to be able to get it released earlier, with a plan to add the audio later on.

According to the Incubator updates, the Swahili audio is ready to be added. However, Duolingo still has not added the audio to the course.

Just asking, why does Duolingo teach High Valyrian (and soon Klingon) but not Chinese or Arabic? That is a bad sign. There are already English courses for both Chinese and Arabic speakers, so why not use some software to reverse them and just have the contributors update the tips and notes?

The Chinese and Arabic courses needed a bit of extra work, because of their different scripts. High Valyrian and Klingon didn't have those problems.

Japanese also uses a different script, and that course has been released to beta now - hopefully once a few weeks or months have passed, and any teething problems have been solved, it'll be possible to introduce the Chinese and Arabic courses to the Incubator. Luis has said he wants to introduce those courses soon.

Greek and Russian are both available on Duolingo...

Greek and Russian's alphabets were easier to implement into the courses because of their similarities to the Latin alphabet. Japanese was the first course with a way different script, and they had to find an entirely new way to teach it. Now that they have this new way to teach the scripts, I hope Mandarin, Arabic, and Farsi will soon arrive.

Arabic's alphabet is distantly related to the so-called Latin alphabet, and so is Hindi's (it's in the Incubator).

Arabic

Arabic's alphabet is distantly related to the so-called Latin alphabet,

This is Arabic: هذا عربي
I would definitely need the new way to teach the script to learn the Arabic script.

Hindi

and so is Hindi's (it's in the Incubator).

As KananG1, the Hindi course moderator said in the most recent update of three days ago that they might get to use the new script teaching thing, and I hope they do, because this is Hindi: यह हिंदी है

Having a way different script is the reason why Chinese and Arabic have never entered the incubator (yet), and now, because of the new way to teach the script they might. Check here for more info about it.

Well, It's not like that. Who make these courses are not the Duolingo owners, it's the users. Some speakers gather around and start to make the courses, so don't blame them for that.

So excited to get learning on High Valyrian! I'm not really a Game of Thrones fan (I want to be bc it seems cool) but I am interested in constructed languages. So cool!

I know sometimes I get confused about the pronunciation (especially without audio). I put the letter-by-letter guide in another tab for quick reference, but I was wondering if there are any exceptions.

"K, P, T are pronounced similar to English, but without aspiration (compare "pie" to "spy". The Valyrian P is pronounced as in "spy")." What does this mean?

I looked aspiration up in the dictionary for a correct definition of the word in pronouncing a sound, and the phonetic definition of the word aspiration is this: "the action of pronouncing a sound with an exhalation of breath." Then I compared pie to spy again. You can tell that you are aspiring while saying the "p" in pie, while in spy, the "p" is much clearer and without aspiration.

As for the other two (K and T) you would pronounce the High Valyrian "k" like the "ck" in tack as opposed to the "k" in kite. The "t" would be pronounced like it is in hat not like in time.

Courses are usually released on the web for a while first. Once they're bedded in a bit, they release them for the android app, usually after a couple of months.

Most courses appear on the web first, before they are released on mobile devices. It usually takes a month or two for the newly released courses to make their way onto mobile devices. High Valyrian is not on the app yet, although you could always go to the website on your phone's browser and do the lessons.
