Office Perks
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
Working at Duolingo, employees have ample opportunity to improve their own foreign language skills. Besides the fact that most people in the office are multilingual and converse in various languages, the office organizes its own language tables to help people practice their speaking in whatever language they’re interested in. The group discussions are a fun way to bring co-workers together in a low-pressure environment—like going to a Brazilian restaurant together and practicing their Portuguese.

They do, actually. Go to gear.duolingo.com to see the products for sale.

I don't have the penguin shirts, but I have a couple of others and I love them :D The women's shirts are very very small sized. The men's shirts are pretty big. I think there is a sizing chart somewhere in the gearstore linked by Cindy. (Thanks Cindy!)

A little side note to people buying the shirts: Duolingo probably doesn't make / barely makes any profit on them, thus buying them is probably not the best way of "supporting Duolingo" (don't let this discourage you from buying them if you like them though).

For those who want to support Duolingo, "Duolingo plus" on mobile is your best option. If it's too expensive / more than you're willing to pay monthly, simply buy it once every x months (don't forget to cancel the automatic monthly payment if you do so though).

Last I heard from staff, stuff in the gear store was sold "at cost". So, no profit for Duolingo.
