suggestion: can you teach us all the letters in the alphabet before moving on to words?
i am trying to learn more than one language on duolingo but it really confuses me because i don't know the letters to the language. many of the letters i am learning look like english letters but they make different sounds. i think it would really help me if i could learn all the letters and the sound they make before i move on to learning words.

Yes, it would. There is plenty of such instruction available on the Internet. You should take a look around, find what looks like the method best suited to the way you like to do things, and learn by means of it it whichever alphabet you are interested in. You'll learn your alphabet MUCH faster than you might if you waited for Duo to change what it has already provided.
Two of the languages that you are signed-up for do that. Both Russian and Greek start with lessons on their alphabets. Unfortunately Duolingo Spanish does not have as much documentation, but there are only a couple of letters that are really different from English.
For many languages there posts that have been written by the course moderators and stickied. Look in the Popular tab under discussion.

Note that, particularly for Greek, the sound a letter makes can change totally based on what letters it's next to. That's part of the reason that words are used.
it would also be great to let us know if there are any really good songs or movies or books etc. that we can look at if we want to.
