Suggestions: Folk songs

It could be great if Duo also had some folk songs blended in. They are mostly public domain and might have interesting historical backgrounds(like Malbrough s'en va t'en guerre).

a real big shame he died so long ago ... the new copyrights would have killed Disney before it started since it used so many stories as their own....

In Britain beatles early songs are now betting out of copyright

is it strange that the land of the free is a jungle for the corporations..

still I have it in my head and will sing it till the wee ones drop into sleep

thanks for remembering me and here are some lingots in gratitude

I don't think they are, Jack. The recordings, but not the songs. But anyway. Keep singing.

Woody Guthrie's standard copyright notice was great:

“This song is Copyrighted in U.S., under Seal of Copyright # 154085, for a period of 28 years, and anybody caught singin it without our permission, will be mighty good friends of ourn, cause we don’t give a dern. Publish it. Write it. Sing it. Swing to it. Yodel it. We wrote it, that’s all we wanted to do.”

"Hobo's Lullaby" was actually written by Goebel Reeves who's been dead for more than 50 years... but of course that's no barrier to copyright law :-(.
