How do you know that it's specifically the mothers?
“Līrisi” is the plural form of “smiles” so “muña” (the singular form of mothers) would have been syntactically incorrect.

Ok so “The mothers sleep” and “The mothers are sleeping” are both accepted. I guess the meaning depends on the context.
Why is "Can't Listen Now" treated as a wrong answer in this course? It wasn't always, and isn't in other languages.
