Duolingo is the most popular way to learn languages in the world. Best of all, it's 100% free!

Could we have a discussion facility in the club section of Duolingo?

I began a club for North Wales learners on my smartphone hoping this would help me and others to learn more about the language learned up here since the Welsh taught on the course is quite different in many respects to the Welsh spoken in North Wales and therefore it gets very confusing. Unfortunately there is no facility there for discussion , only smiley faces and pre-loaded comments to give to people for achievement. Can anyone from Duolingo help with this facility please?

I think this is a great idea, but although I don't have any way to make it happen - if you move your post from the Welsh forum to the general Duolingo forum, you might reach more people who do!

I didn't know I had posted it in the Welsh forum, I thought there was only one, can you tell me where to go for the general one?

If you click edit in the bottom right-hand corner of your post, in the top-left of the edit layout there's a green button that right now would say "Welsh". If you click this there'll be a dropdown menu, one of the options will say "Duolingo", and after clicking that and saving your changes with the blue button in the top-right, your post will be moved :)

Thanks for the comment.

Firstly, you may not be aware that it's possible to enter all the North Wales dialect as answers to the English - Welsh questions.

We've added all the possible Welsh answers.

Of course the reason the Duolingo course looks different to the local course you're studying is that we've had to try an teach a compromise for the English-Welsh questions.

Regarding discussion and feedback. The facility for that is limited on Duolingo. This forum is the only place to discuss the course and only the minority who have access to the web course can use the forum.

The two Facebook groups 'Duolingo Welsh Learners' https://www.facebook.com/groups/welshduolingo/?ref=bookmarks

and 'Dw i'n dysgu Cymraeg' https://www.facebook.com/groups/8576703359/

are very useful for discussion.
