"Laughs in Turkish". We do use as few words as possible.

Why can't I say "We eat"?

Well, saying "Welcome! We eat." sounds pretty weird. It's almost like you expect something else to come after "eat" such as "we eat at night" or "we eat fruit."

High Valyrian doesn't seem to distinguish present active indicative (we eat) from a present active participle (we are eating), like a lot of languages. English identifies 'we eat' and 'we are eating' as two different actions, so it makes more sense to translate it as 'we are eating', as it has to be changed to suit English grammar. However, they might introduce PAPs later on in the course.

How would one say, "Let's eat"? We haven't done the imperative yet.
