They all have very beautiful songs.
Anything by coeur de pirate is pretty, but i like her song comme des infantes
I love french music, cant understand the words but it sounds beautiful
I started learning french just to understand Lara Fabian songs like je t'aime, especially live concerts, also you can try Alizee songs like Moi... Lolita, of course your taste of music can be different but you may want to try them.
I love Indila's songs. Her voice is amazing and her songs help me a lot when it comes to learning new verbs etc xD I love Derniere danse and tourner dans le vide
I listen to let it go from disney frozen in french it sounds really pretty.
The new Indochine album Dark City is good or at least i like it a lot.
William Sheller is great, too. All of his songs are wonderful. There is also Julien Clerc, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Charles Aznavour, Daniel Balavoine, Eddie Mitchell, Edith Piaf, France Gall, Francis Cabrel, Jacques Brel, Jeanne Mas, Joe Dassin, Lynda Lemay, Pierre Bachelet, Serge Reggiani,...
And I pretty much just listed all of my favorites. Most of them are major french singers, and pretty much unavoidable if you want to explore french songs ^^
There is also this one I can't stand, but he is a legend and maybe you'll like it : it is Georges Brassens. Most people can't understand how I can not like his songs. Guess I just don't have the taste for his style.
Georges Brassens might be my single favorite among French singers ;-) ! I can understand how people would not like him though. Can you tell me what it is specifically about him that you don't like? Ironically, I have more trouble with Jacques Brel. Although his texts are among the most powerful and poignant in French music, I have difficulty with his apparent complete lack of rhythm.
Ils ont des styles bien différents l'un de l'autre (question d'époque aussi), mais ils font tous les deux partie de la culture musicale française.
I feel like there is barely any melody in his songs, and his rythm is broken, it grates on my nerves, I can't stand it
Lack of rythm ? Jacques Brel ? oO I guess it really is a matter of personal perception xD
Haha ! ;-)
