syncing up an online account and an app with the same email account

I have an online account and installed the app on my phone. When the "tell us a little about yourself" popped up on my app it refused by email address by saying it's already taken. Does anyone know how to sync up my online account and app with the same email?

Don't make a new account, but use the same username and pasword for all your devices.

In the Android App and in Duolingo's webversion ( you have to:

  • click on "I already have an account" instead of "Get started"
  • then you see the "Sign in" screen
  • log in with the same username and password as you did before

In the IOS App it is more complicated.

Log in the IOS App

From the home page:

  • go to the clubs tab
  • touch "profile"
  • then touch "settings"
  • and then you have to sign in with the same username and password as in Duolingo's web version (
