I want to hear ABOUT a remarkable event. Hearing it directly would be like hearing gun shots or the two towers collapse
Why can't "I want to listen to a remarkable event" be correct?
Does this mean "I want someone to tell me about the event" or "I want literally to hear some audible event? "
I'm wondering this too...
Only on the radio do we "hear" events in English. We "hear about" them but we usually "see" them.
