Hello everyone. Thank you for sharing this information. I was studying and I found more useful verbs (*Note: Sometimes more than one preposition can be correct depending on the use of the verb):

Verb + from --> die, suffer, escape, recover, choose; Verb + with --> argue, agree, cooperate, fight, associate; Verb + to --> belong, speak, listen, refer, link

"Belong to a gym" sounds weird, we'd normally say "My girlfriend and I go to this gym" rather than belong to it.

I believe "belong to" refers to having a membership in that particular gym. So, that is ok, right?

ValLash. Yes, 'We belong to that gym', 'I belong to that club' is a very common expression in the UK if you have a membership.

Yes it is. But it's probably regional. I'm from the Midwest (Born and raised in Missouri) and have heard it. If you have a membership, we say 'belong to' and 'go to.' Like 'We belong to that gym;' or 'You belong to that club' is common in the Midwest USA too.

There you go Levi, there is life outside NYC. At least in the Show Me State they share this with the UK. I'm sure its in other regions too.

No it's not. Maybe in the UK it is. I've never even heard it in my life. (I was born and raised in New York). Even if you have a membership, we'd say "Go to" instead of "belong to".
