I made the old mistake again of assuming the ない was a negator in some new-to-me grammatical configuration with no く. Even if it were, I don't think my answer, "this class is not always boring", would have been right; it might have been "this class is never (always not) boring"!

I'm also not sure if つまらなくない would be the appropriate way to negate boring, if you did negate it.

For everybody wondering why there is -nai at the end of tsumaranai. 詰まる (tsumaru, same kanji) means to be full, to be packed with somethig. So if you negate it you will get "not full", "empty". Empty stuff which does not contain much is usually boring :-)
