Man's not hot, never hot.
Why あつい is not right?
It is hot. あつい。
It is not hot. あつくない。
Ok, but why is あついないです wrong? I thought that in Japanese, a double negative makes for a strong negative...
If I want to say that I'm/it's not cold, would it be correct to say あついではありません ?
Or is あつくないです the only way to say that?
Thanks in advance!
あつくない is negative form of あつい

暑くないです。was not accepted Nov 7, 2017.
I really wish they would be more consistent when they accept kanji in the answers.
I typed 熱くないです cause I wasn't checking if it was the right kanji, and it was counted correct. What's the difference between 暑い and 熱い ?
熱い is hot to the touch (It has the 'fire' radical 灬 )
暑い is hot weather/air/atmosphere (It has the 'sun' radical 日)
I see, thanks! I did find it weird there were apparently two words for cold but only one for hot x)
