Here in Alabama, US.. BarBQue is our favorite.. Spill it over chicken or pork and we chow it down with fries and Baked Beans. Alabama is the 'Southern' part of the US where we use 'Mam' to address women instead of Miss or Mrs. SWEET Tea is one of our favorite fast food drinks. The kids still love to pump up their 'country' trucks with lifts on big 'country' tires while they blast their country music. Unfortunately they subject us to the less tolerable 'rap' at their basketball games, football games, etc. I think everyone in Alabama wears flip-flops nearly all the time. The police will even play basketball with you in the street while in uniform. Sundays and Wednesday half the state is in a church somewhere, and you can find a church on every street corner of almost any denomination. Come on through for the Green Fried Tomatoes and Bar B Que- you won't be disappointed.
One of my main hobbies is playing basketball! I think I would love it there. I live in Texas, not far away, but in the one and only VERY Liberal part of Texas, drumroll please! Austin! So very quite local, and there's so much to do downtown, coffee shops on the lake, two spring fed swimming pools, a giant public park, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, waterskiing, tubing, you name it. Then, once you're done with your activities, you can come home to your fringe Austin suburban home.

I come from Porto, Portugal. People sometimes refer to it as "Invicta". There are quite a few unique tastes to the region, including the famous Port Wine, "francesinha" (a very meaty sandwich with ham, sausage, steak and beer sauce) or "tripas à moda do Porto" (tripe with white beans). This last dish gave us, the people that inhabit Porto, our traditional name "tripeiros".
