It doesnt let you have "she has given me permission to see her daughter" which would be the most natural translation into english.

I wrote the same thing, but I believe the Italian equivalent of our answer would be more like "Lei mi ha dato il permesso di vedere sua figlia"

It needs to be "She let me see her daughter", since the Italian is the present perfect tense.
