English (ஆங்கிலம்) -> Tamil (தமிழ்)

August 15, 2017

Good to hear English-Tamil is going strong (English-Telegu seems to have died completely). I very much look forward to a Tamil-English course in the fullness of time!

All the content creators are really excited about it too! But we want to ensure we finish Tamil -> English thoroughly so that there's a great base for the Tamil course!

I expect you will find out that for such drastically different languages the reverse course cannot really derive much benefit from the forward one. Rules for synonym acceptability maybe, but reuse of sentences only exceptionally. (In fact, many teams actively avoid cross-connections.)

You're right! But I've been shaping this course keeping the reverse in mind, so that we can reuse perhaps 10-20% of what we've done now.

In any case, we don't want to make this a half-hearted effort just to quickly get to the Tamil course. This is as important as that.

Smart. If you can already keep a working list of reverse skills, lexemes, and even actual Tamil sentences with their English translations (that already exist as your current English source sentences), you will be well on your reverse way before you even start.
