Confusion over tones

HI, I recently started the Vietnamese corse and I've had nothing but trouble trying to correctly differentiate and pronounce the six tones of the language. The pronunciations in the course and the graphics I find around the internet detailing the "shapes" of the tones don't seem to help. Am I missing something? I love the Vietnamese language and its associated culture, so I'd hate to give up so soon.

Try this. Although it's Southern accent, it gives you lots of practice on vowels and tones.
