Anybody has trouble strengthening the unit "Te + Infinitive verbs"? (Dutch). I have cleanly repeated this unit so many times that I know the sentences by heart, but have been stuck in the mud for some time with this unit. DUO, PLEASE LET ME OUT

Te + infinitive lesson is only second in hellishness to the "Er" lesson, which I'm pretty sure came from Hades itself.

A lot of people think "Te + Infinitive verbs" are difficult.
Dutch is my mother tongue, but this was also a difficult skill for me. English and Dutch are so different in this kind of sentences!

> Pentaan Veel wordt vaak - in menige talen - onnodig moeilijk gemaakt, b.v. "Het valt te proberen", en "Het valt moeilijk in te zien" . De vragen zijn (1) waarom zoveel "vallen", en (2) wat is de oorsprong van het gebruik van "vallen". en waarom. Maar toch lees ik liever boeken, kranten en tijdschrijften in het Nederlands. Het is vlugger, en beter te begrijpen.

Look at this: http://www.vandale.nl/opzoeken?pattern=Vallenlang=nn. You can find the answers to your questions under the definition of the verb vallen, #8. It's used as a vervangend koppelwerkwoord in those sentences.

> Duchesse722 Thank you. Interesting, educational, including the articles made available. Strangely enough, I am still looking for a definition, explanation of a "koppelwerkwoord" at http://ans.ruhosting.nl/e-ans/index.html, otherwise also a very educational site

Do you mean you can't advance to the next unit?

There is no impediment to the next lesson, just no advancement from 4/5 to 5/5. I am sent home again, again, and again, despite completing the lesson flawless many times; many, many more times compared to any other lesson

Try the desktop timed practice or practise the skill on the app. Those usually have more examples/sentences than regular desktop lessons. :)

> RJ_G Grazie mille. Indeed very helpful in many respects. I lived and studied in the Netherlands from 1959 - 1962, and again from 1965 - 1968, having a heck of a time, and witnessing the radical cultural change of the sixties. That was also the time that one of the few bank robberies became front page news. In Spanish they say: "Recordar es vivir". Nostalgic, yes. Nogmaals hartelijk bedankt beste vriend.
