Ultimate Netflix hack for language learning: dual screens

*this only works if you have at least 2 screens simultaneous on your subscription

You can stream the same show on two different devices, set to two different languages, say one in Spanish and one in English.....this works well for me on a foreign show like Narcos if I set my laptop/projector to English subtitles, and then have Spanish subtitles on my iphone. You'll have to manually sync them...but it's worth it! I like having my iphone a second behind my projector to give my brain a chance to catch up...

There's probably an easy webapp you could write to do this (and could handle the syncing/setup), but for now this works!

If you want to learn how to listen to Spanish, don't practice simultaneously listening to English. It sounds like an idea but it can become a crutch. I understand that there's a need to understand every single word that you hear but I would suggest just a Spanish program with Spanish subtitles.

:: Nerd Alert :: Keep in mind the lead actor is not a native Spanish speaker, Wagner Moura is Brazilian. According to many, he doesn't sound authentically Colombian. If you're interested in watching a far more entertaining series about that infamous terrorist/drug dealer then I would suggest El PatrĂ³n.

Note: the package to use 2 screens cost something like 2 pounds extra a month

Note: Most families/friend groups share a Netflix account so they have the ability to use more than 1 screen at once

okay, I wasn't saying it a bad idea, i actually quite like it, but people would also need to know if it was immediately available to them and although in a lot cases (families) it maybe there are also many cases where it is not e.g. me and anyone else who doesn't live with a family or anyone else. I just wanted people to have all the necessary information.
