translating web pages
If a webpage is written in "bad" Spanish it sure is a challenge to translate any of it into grammatically correct English!
I find keeping this in mind is helpful when translating, as most of the time you're trying to convey the gist of a sentence, not a literal translation. Recipe measurements have to be as precise as possible, though.
It is also useful to open the original document in another window so you can see the context of the sentence or phrase
I find the tone of spanish a lot different than english, Some things like idioms and expressions do not translate directly. Like in english we play video games and we play the guitar, pero in espanol, jugamos los videojuegos y tocamos la guitarra.
