Help with a Danish job interview. Just one question.

Hi Danish duolingo community,

I have an interview with a Danish company tomorrow, but have only just started learning. If asked, I would like to say in the interview "Sorry I cannot speak Danish, but I am excited/keen to learn".

Can anyone advise me on what sounds natural in Danish. I have done the Basic Phrases module so think the first part is right, but I'm not sure about the second part (it's from Google Translate which is not always reliable).

"Undskyld jeg kan ikke tale dansk. Jeg vil gerne lære."

Thank you for your help all.

Eva

Are you going to speak this line to your interviewer? The Danish tongue is tricky when spoken.

Yes, I was going to try and speak the line. I've been practicing the pronunciation. I won't be perfect, but wanted to show that I'm trying. (The interviewer also speaks English). Thank you for your advice.

'But' in Danish is 'men' so if the second part is right use 'men' to join the 2 parts together
