Need help from Norwegian readers, please!
I'm working on a family history book for my dad and I'm trying to determine if I've got the right document for our family. Unfortunately, I can't read this and don't recognize Norwegian enough to make out what it might say. Is anyone able to look this over and let me know what it says? https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6KeFRfkhXHqd0NINVlXRWkybFE
It looks to me as if it is just a bunch of names. If you have more of the text than that would be helpful. Like I said, it is just a list of names followed by places.
Yes. There was just one word on there that I couldn't figure out. I think it's "godparents". However, there's still this word I'm stumped with https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6KeFRfkhXHqaWl1XzVzSlJiWVk
I think it is "Vidnerne", an archaic worm of "vitnene", meaning "the witnesses". That would translate to godparents. In Norwegian tradition one often has one set of godparents, and then two to four other "faddere", co-godparents/sponsors. Collectively all these would be considered witnesses in the religious context.
