Using Siri to Check Pronunciation

Does anyone else do this? I currently don't have time to speak with native Japanese speakers on a regular basis to help with pronunciation and listening, so I've started changing Siri's language on my phone to Japanese and talking to "her". I know some of the understanding may just be guess work on the computer's part, but if my pronunciation is good enough for Siri to accurately guess what I'm saying, I figure I'm at least in the ballpark on pronunciation.

Google Translate in Chrome lets you speak into a microphone. I use it to see that I'm at least close in my pronunciation.

I didn't know that. Definitely going to check it out. Thanks!

Awesome! I like that idea. I'd do that with siri, except even when the setting is on English and I speak in English, neither of us understand :I

English Siri infuriates me. Haha. I don't know if it's my southern accent or what, but it doesn't understand me most of the time.

Me: ''Hi siri.''

Siri: ''I'm not sure I understand.'' or

Siri: ''Searching the web for 'High's eerie'.''

Me: ''Ugh!''

Siri: ''I'm not sure I understand.''
