Icelandic course?

I really want the team to work on an icelandic course on this site, it would be pretty nice since its mostly the English alphabet and pretty similar to norwegian and swedish, also I've noticed duolingo isn't very good for grammar, I don't know if the icelandic grammar system is much different from norwegian. (I'm not a language expert I'm just expressing my ideas)

Icelandic grammar is considerably more complicated than Norwegian. However, if Duolingo can teach Polish and Czech, I don't see why this should cause any great problems.

I believe an Icelandic course request has already been posted.

I wouldn't learn it myself since I have no use for it (other than having a friend from Iceland that speaks considerably okay English), but it'd be cool if Duolingo had it. I've yet to see a good place that teaches Icelandic, albeit I haven't really looked for one.

Icelandic isn't too similar to Norwegian and Swedish, other than both being related to Norse and being Germanic. I'd compare it to Spanish and French, similar but many differences. I've heard the grammar in Icelandic is super difficult.

I've also heard Icelandic hasn't changed very much over the years, and mutually intelligible with Old Norse, which is cool.

Thats why I wanted to learn it, so it's easier to read futhark/old norse

Have you checked out IcelandicOnline.com? It is free and almost as good as a Duo course, at least while you wait for Duo to catch up.

Thanks, I don't speak much norwegian yet and I've heard its easier to learn icelandic if you speak a nordic language, My goal is to learn norwegian, Icelandic and eventually old norse/futhark

Futhark is just an alphabet, like Greek, Russian, Braille or Morse Code. Start a Futhark module on Memrise at any time, you will pick it up quickly.

Yeah, I feel like Duolingo should start working on some more courses for English speakers. I feel like they should make a Japanese one, since I know some of the Hiragana alphabet and I would really like to expand on that.

Or did they make a Japanese one? Maybe they did, I just came back to this website and had to make a new account, so things could of changed. I am sorry if I was wrong.
