Translation:Đứa trẻ không uống bát canh.
I think this is typically a case for the classifier. But apparently not so.
In English it is much more common to say "eat your soup" rather than "drink your soup". It's just something that has stuck with the language even though it makes more sense to say "drink" for liquids. Also, canh can refer to "broth" in which case you would use drink.
You drink your broth but eat your soup.
