Printing Tips and Notes
I have found WordPad to work much better than Word (docx.) for cutting, pasting, saving and printing Tips and Notes. In Duolingo there is a difference in formatting the explanations in Tips and Notes and the tables containing examples which does not translate well into Word. The only problem with WordPad is that, if you want to create a long document with page numbers, you will have to insert them manually at the top of each new page, as you would with a typewriter--not a major issue especially if you are creating a document with all the Tips and Notes as you go along through the program.
This is great! Thank you so much for all the work you are doing. I only found your guides because you replied to my post, even though I had tried to search the discussion posts. These guides will help a lot because it is easier to study the Tips and Notes on paper and because the cell phone app editions--at least those I've used--do not have Tips and Notes.
Thanks, Merci, Gracias, Dank U!
It formats better in Wordpad because it uses a reduced format set (just RTF); when you cut/paste into Word, Word does a relatively poor job of converting the HTML into fully formatted Word docs. However, you can have the best of both worlds - save your RTF in Wordpad and re-open in Word to have full control over any extras you want to add. Word is perfectly capable of opening RTF files.
On the other hand, save some trees and don't print it out - it's perfectly readable on screen.
