Befejeztem a magyar fát!
Yes, I completed it just today! I started around 2-3 months ago, so I think I've done alright! It's a pretty informative course, I've been able to start speaking with some Hungarians on external apps/websites. However I was kind of confused with the order of the skills, by the end I had learned a lot, even if some of the questions were frustratingly long and/or pedantic.
Overall though, it actually wasn't as hard as some make it out to be. It isn't particularly easy but it certainly isn't a scary monster that it is presented as.
Köszönöm szépen, Duolingo!
My next step will to continue learning new vocabulary, as well as continue conversing with people. I will also try and race through the English for Hungarian course.
Gratulálok! A magyar nyelv nem könnyű, bár nekem ez az anyanyelvem. Ha 2-3 hónap alatt elsajátítottad, akkor már csak gyakorolnod kell és menni fog!(:
Gratulálok! 2-3 hónap az tényleg gyors, én már elkezdtem egy éve és még nem fejeztem be...
(2-3 months is really fast, I started a year ago, and didn't finish it. I am Hungarian, but still)
En: Congratulations! That 2-3 months period is a pretty short time. Hu: Gratulálok! Ez a 2-3 hónap egy elég rövid idő.
Incredible, considering the difficulty of the language. Congratulations! I see you are very dedicated to Hungarian.
Well done, congratulation, you give motivation to all of us to learn. I wonder why you're interested in learning Hungarian, would you mind sharing that with us?
Szép munka, gratulálok, mindannyiunkat motiválsz ezzel. Kíváncsi vagyok vajon miért pont a magyar nyelv érdekel, megosztanád velünk?
My great grandfather spoke Hungarian, so that got me interested. I was told it was one of the hardest languages in the world, but I found an article which listed some of the reasons why it isn't as hard as people say it is. I decided to try it, and I was hooked!
Nice story, keep it up mate, certainly it isn't easy but indeed you can find something that makes things easier in any language. In the case of Hungarian the exact pronunciation probably makes the language easier, also the lack of adjective declension and maybe we could consider verb conjugation fairly easy. But as a native of course it's hard to judge our language. I'd say it's among the hardest but not the hardest, if I look at a language like Basque or Greenlandic those seem to be even harder but of course it also really depends on what your native language is. Nevertheless everyone is capable of learning any language, so don't be afraid if you face difficulties. If you have any questions or concerns about grammar just let me know and I'll try my best to help.
Thanks a lot! Yep, when I start a language I look for what is easy rather than what's hard. Hungarian has no genders, easy and logical declensions, more straightforward pronunciation, etc.
