Is there a reason why sometimes it's okay it push "nicht" to the end of a sentence and other times it isn't?

would someone answer this question please? :)

I read this, but it still wasn't clear to me why nicht preceded das Gerät in this case.

How about "Das Gerät ist es nicht"???
I don't understand why in a previous exercise "Moebel mag er nicht" is the right form (as opposed to "Er mag Moebel nicht") and at the same time, in this exercise, "Es ist nicht das Gerat" is the only correct answer.

Why is "nicht" used here insted of "kein"?

"Kein" would be used to say that something isn't a device. However, in this sentence you could be talking about a device, but it's not the right device.

If you wanted to say "It is not a device," then "not a" becomes "kein." However, the sentence says, "It is not the device."" Since you want the sentence to include the article "the" (das), you must use nicht.

Is "das Gerät" as very useful word in German or is Duolingo being weirdly insistent here?

Why can't it be "Sie ist nicht die Vorrichtung."?

I'm so confused. Is "Es ist das Gerät nicht" completely bad? I guess it is but, why?
