A question with a Nebensatz.

Hello eveyone. Recently I've been reading a book. And I saw a sentence like this:

"Und das Wichtigste ist, dass alle gleich nützlich sind in unserer Gesellschaft."

So my question is the Nebensatz here, I thought the verb had to come last in order. So it should be like this:

",dass alle gleich nützlich in unserer Gesellschaft sind."

Why isn't it like that, or is it just some sort of preference?

Both sound perfectly normal to me, the verb at the end is a little more formal. In writing I'd probably put the verb at the end though. Yeah, preference I'd say.

The first sentence is definitely better, I think.

Edit: "...dass alle gleich nützlich sind" belongs together. I would not separate it.

Ja tut mir leid fehlt mir gerade auch auf, dass ich ein echt schlecht geschrieben Satz auf Englisch verfasst hatte. Ich dachte einfach nicht nach das daraus kein Kontext entsteht.
