What's your favorite language to say "I love you"

Hello! I found a video called, "I love you in more than 100 languages" and I thought I'd share it with you! The video is pretty long because there are a lot of languages to cover but I did find another video that is shorter. Here are the links:

(Long version) - https://youtu.be/EskC5-FzXhA

(Short version) - https://youtu.be/GX3CkSY33z0

Once you are done watching one of the videos, tell me which language is your favorite way of saying: I love you!

My personal favorites are-

  1. Sign language! <3
  2. Patois: Mi luv yuh
  3. Upper Sorbian: Ja će lubuju
  4. Chinese: 我爱你
  5. Romanian: Te iubesc
  6. Finnish: Minä rakastan sinua
  7. English: I love you
  8. Greek: Σ 'αγαπώ
  9. Kikuyu: Ningwendete
  10. El Silbo! :D

Thank you so much, I hope you guys have fun telling your favorites!

Russian, Romanian, German, and Norwegian are my favorite!

Я люблю тебя from Russian and Jeg elsker deg from Norwegian sound nice in my opinion.

This may be biased because I'm learning Swahili, but I love you in Kiswahili is Ninakupenda. XD

I just love how cool it sounds.

I am to say "I love you", then I would be really stepping on my own feet, my words still on the tip of my tongue and really afraid and stumbling upon my words....He he... If I am to say "I love you" then it will be in English.....

Interesting discussion! For me, Italian: Ti amo and Romanian: Te iubesc are the best!!

I love to say, "I love you" in German: Ich liebe dich!

I also like how Esperanto sounds especially if you add a German accent: Mi amas vin! Sounds pretty cool...

My favorite would be Japanese: 愛してる (ai shiteru) or 愛しています (ai shite imasu). I really love the way it sounds, and I think it's interesting because it's a really, really strong way to say you love someone (I've once heard that it kinda sounds like something someone would say on their deathbed), which isn't really something featured in English.

I personally think that so long as it's sincere, it doesn't matter what language you're using. Love is a language in it's own, that can be understood by only two people. But I personally like the French, "Je t'aime." Some thing about the t apostrophe then love.

"Te amo" sounds so dramatic and intense to me, probably from all the mexican telenovelas I've watched all my life haha. Spanish is my native language, and I think "I love you" it's one of those times when this quote is spot on:

"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart." Nelson Mandela

Serbian - Volim te (najvise na svetu).

    You mean "najviše". ;)

I didn't know it was one word! Thank you!

    No problem, you're welcome. :)

Cantonese - Ngóh ngoi néih (我爱你) because it is my wife's mother tongue!

English Honestly. Although it is my native language, I still find it the best!

I think that all the languages in the world have a beautiful way of saying I love you! Thank you for sharing this, I really loved watching those videos!! <3<3<3

i like sign language and spanish

personally, my favourite is Finnish, mainly because I want to move there when I'm older!

ASL for sure. It just feels sincere and from the heart. Then English, because I've said it in English the most. I also like French because it sounds soft and cosy.

    Kabardian. фIыуэ узолъагъу

I love to say I love you in French. Je t' aime ! French is the language of love ! a

My favourites: Aishiteiru (Japanese), Ich liebe dich (German) - because of soft 'sh' I love how it sounds. Also: Wo ai ni (Chinese), Ja ce lubuju (Sorbian), Ya lyublyu tebya (Russian), Suki (another Japanese exactly sound 'ski')

The language of my loved one !
