Currently 'whose is that husband' is not accepted. But I think it should be. Reported.

What's the TTS saying when I mouse over "Čí"?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/MarceloRod50

It's saying text to be read not found. It's a bug.

"Whose is that husband?" was marked incorrect, though it itself is correct (albeit a slightly uncommon way of saying it). Reported it but commenting in case of clarification.

It would be closer to "Čí je TEN manžel".

Why isn´t it "Ci je ten mazel"?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/VladaFu

That would be pointing at some particular "that husband" and asking whose husband it is.

Thanks a lot :-)

Would "ci manzel je on" be correct? I'm not brave enpugh to tey it

Yes, it's also accepted.

Note that it stresses "on" a lot:

  • A: Čí je to manžel? (pointing at Matěj)
  • B: Žofiin.
  • A: A čí manžel je on? (pointing at František this time)
  • B: Kateřinin.

The above example shows the contrast created by the emphasis (this him, not that him).
